Set on the shoreline of Polychrono, this project reimagines an 80’s seaside house through a careful balance of preservation and reinterpretation.Rather than erasing its identity, the design embraces the existing architectural language and elevates it through a curated dialogue between old and new.
The intervention focuses on continuity. Original elements such as wooden frames, patterned glass, and handcrafted details are retained and highlighted, becoming anchors of memory within the space.
Inside, a warm, layered atmosphere emerges where vintage furniture coexists with contemporary pieces, creating a subtle tension between nostalgia and clarity, while the intervention prioritizes continuity by retaining and highlighting original elements as anchors of the home’s identity.
The result is not a transformation that overwrites, but one that edits, reframes, and enhances allowing the house to remain authentically rooted in its past while adapting to present day living.
The outdoor living space becomes central to the experience. A newly designed wooden pergola structures everyday life around shade, gathering, and the sea beyond. Natural materials timber, stone, and greenery frame views toward the horizon, reinforcing a seamless transition between interior and landscape.
